Painting I: Form, Color, and Narrative
Painting I develops a foundation in oil painting through studies of value, form, and color. Students progress from value scales and monochromatic exercises to portrait studies, master copies, and full-palette figure paintings. Technical practice supports their choices about composition and personal narrative. This gallery also includes gouache studies from Drawing II for Illustration, identified in the captions.
